My Approach to Criminal Defense and Legal Practice
A look at the principles, experience, and courtroom philosophy that define my practice. Whether you are seeking representation or mentorship, here is how I approach the law.
In criminal defense, there are times you must take a hard stance in court. I believe a lawyer must be fearless and ready to swim against the tide, always with dignity, to fight for a just cause.
My guiding philosophy is simple: the means must justify the end. An ethical and honest defense is the only path I walk, for every client, in every case.
I am often asked if I represent those who cannot afford a senior advocate. Justice is not a privilege. A good portion of my cases every day are pro bono, and I have been associated with the Delhi High Court's Legal Aid Committee for over a decade.
After more than 30 years of practice, I find that the most important part of my work is still listening. Understanding your story is the first step in building a strong defense.
In this profession, there is no junior or senior. The only difference is experience, and the confidence that comes from navigating the complexities of the law time and again. I am as ignorant as a young lawyer with every new case, but confident in my ability to chart the course.
My path to becoming a senior advocate was not a straight line. I began as a first-generation lawyer with just a law degree and a table at Tis Hazari, which taught me the value of perseverance and fighting from the ground up.
About Featured
After over three decades at the Delhi High Court, I have learned that a solid defense is not just about knowing the law, but about listening to the client's story and building a strategy from the ground up. I do not believe in cookie-cutter defense plans. Every case I take, whether it is a complex criminal matter or a pro bono consultation, requires fresh, meticulous preparation based on the unique facts at hand. When you consult with me, you get a defense strategy that is researched, fearless, and deeply rooted in years of navigating the High Court’s intricacies.
Building a defense requires more than just legal knowledge. It requires the courage to stand by your client, even when the tide is against you. My practice in criminal law is built on a simple, uncompromising foundation: the means must justify the end. If I take up your case, I am personally involved in the record review, the strategy planning, and the final arguments.
Why my approach works
- Fresh Strategy for Every Case: I do not believe in recycling arguments. I start by dissecting the FIR, the charge-sheet, and witness testimonies with my team, looking for the contradictions that the prosecution often overlooks.
- Fearless Representation: In a high-stakes criminal matter, hesitation can be fatal to your case. Whether we are arguing for bail or fighting for acquittal at the final stage, I believe in making a firm, respectful, and forceful argument before the Bench.
- Commitment to Justice: Access to legal help should not be a luxury. I dedicate a significant portion of my time to pro bono representation because I know what it feels like to be a first-generation lawyer with no connections. If you are struggling, I am here to help.
If you are looking for a Senior Advocate who will be honest about your case's merits, prepare thoroughly, and stand by you in the Delhi High Court, let’s discuss the way forward.
