About Criminal Law Representation
How I See My Role
Main sabse pehle vakeel hoon (first and foremost, I am a lawyer). I started out with just a table and chair at Tis Hazari, so I know what it means to fight from the ground up. Every case is a responsibility, not just a file. I believe the way you fight matters as much as the result.
My Way of Defending
With 30+ years at the Delhi High Court, I’ve seen all kinds of criminal cases - from the straightforward to the ones that make headlines. Here’s how I work:
- I don’t shy away from tough fights. If the case needs a hard stance, I take it, but always with respect for the court.
- Every case is new. I don’t recycle old strategies. I look at the facts fresh and build a defense that fits.
- I focus on details. A strong defense is built on careful groundwork.
Justice for All
Justice isn’t just for those who can pay. I take up pro bono criminal representation for people who can’t afford a lawyer. On most days, a good chunk of my cases are for the poor or for fellow lawyers who need help. I’m also part of the Delhi High Court’s Legal Aid Committee.
What Guides Me
Whether it’s a high court criminal defense lawyer job for a big case or helping someone with no money, I put in the same effort. My only rule: the defense must be ethical and fearless, always.

My Story
Hi, I’m Narayanan. Didn’t start off as a lawyer - science grad, tried UPSC, life did its own thing. Landed at Campus Law Centre, Delhi. Nights, I was a journalist at Patriot, days were courts where even getting a seat at Tis Hazari felt like a win. Floods hit my home in Kerala, then my office in Delhi - water everywhere, books lost. So when I see people struggling, sannu lagya yaar, sannu kuch karna hai (I feel it, we have to do something). That’s what keeps me going.
My Work
Criminal Law at Delhi High Court - I’ve been practicing over 30 years as a Senior Advocate, mostly handling tough, sometimes messy cases. No drama, just work.
Pro bono work is non-negotiable - Of every six cases, two or three are pro bono. Har gareeb aadmi ke liye khada hona vakeel ka farz banta hai (It’s a lawyer’s duty to stand for every poor person).
No hierarchy in my chambers - I don’t do junior-senior drama. You want to talk, my door’s open. We’re all learning, every single day.
Fearless, but with dignity - Sometimes you have to take a tough stand in court. Don’t shy away, but always keep your head.
