Recovery is not linear. Having rebuilt my own strength after shoulder surgery, I do not just coach rehab—I live it. Here is the reality of the process, one day at a time.
This is my personal journey through a severe shoulder injury, the subsequent surgery, and the long road of post-op rehabilitation. I share this because I want clients with injuries to know I truly understand the process. I provide expert guidance on injury recovery because I have navigated it myself.
About My Injury Recovery Journey
Rehab is not about speed, it is about controlled, isometric resistance that honors your current range of motion. We prioritize tendon health over heavy lifting, using cable machines and slow eccentric reps to rebuild stability without stressing the joint. If you are struggling with a setback, we start exactly where you are, not where you want to be.
Recovery requires dhairya (patience), especially when your body feels like it is working against you. After my own shoulder dislocation and surgery, I realized that most standard fitness plans ignore the critical gap between 'healed' and 'strong.'
My rehab approach in Richmond Town is built on three pillars:
- Assessment: We evaluate your current range of motion and identify your specific pain points. No generic plans here.
- Controlled Resistance: We lean on isometric holds and eccentric movements (slow lowering) to strengthen tendons without the jarring impact of heavy, explosive weights.
- Consistency: We work with longer rest periods to ensure proper muscle activation, focusing on joint health and stability.
