The biggest hesitation we hear from new students is the worry about needing a partner or prior experience. At Motley, we rotate partners throughout every class, so you will meet new people regardless of whether you walk in solo or with a friend. We focus on the social side of Latin dance, meaning you don't just learn steps, you learn how to connect and vibe with the rest of the crew in the room.
Your First Step is the Hardest (But We Make It Easy)
We know walking into a dance studio for the first time can feel intimidating. That is why we designed our FAQ series to put those nerves to rest.
Do I need a partner? Not at all. You can show up solo to any of our classes in Indiranagar, HSR Layout, or Koramangala. We rotate partners during the session, which helps you learn faster and ensures you get to dance with different people. Plus, if you do bring a partner, you get a 10% discount on your course.
What should I wear? Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. Jeans, track pants, or comfortable tees work perfectly. If you have dance shoes, great, but a clean pair of socks is all you really need to get started. Don't forget a towel and water bottle, because we will definitely get you moving.
What if I miss a class? Life happens. If you miss a session, do not worry about falling behind. We send out recap videos of everything covered in the batch via WhatsApp so you can practice at home. We also dedicate time at the start of the next session to review previous steps.
Is it really beginner friendly? Absolutely. Whether it is Salsa, Bachata, or Kizomba, our courses are curated for those with zero experience.
