Full Family and Generational Photography in Mumbai
Getting the whole family in one frame is chaos, but it is the best kind of chaos. I love capturing the laughter, the generations, and the energy that flows through your family tree, from the grandparents right down to the little ones.
The whole 'khandaan' together. Capturing multiple generations in one frame, from the baby to the grandparents, creates a powerful and lasting legacy portrait for the entire family.
A classic family portrait that feels both timeless and modern. The black and white tones emphasize the emotional connection and the loving gaze shared between parents and their child.
A joyous celebration with the extended family. Throwing confetti and sharing laughter, this image captures the vibrant energy and happiness of a family coming together for a special milestone.
An outdoor family session in a beautiful, lush garden. I love using natural settings to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere, allowing your family's connection to be the focus.
The special bond between a grandmother and her grandchild. These multi-generational photos are so important, as they capture the love that is passed down through the family.
A truly precious moment between a great-grandfather and the newest addition to the family. This portrait is a beautiful piece of family history, connecting the past and the future.
Three generations of wonderful women. The love and warmth in this portrait are palpable, creating a treasured memory of the family's matriarchs with the little one.
A cozy in-home session, capturing a young family in their most comfortable space. These relaxed portraits tell the story of your everyday life and love.
A simple, beautiful portrait of a young family. My goal is to preserve these fleeting moments, creating images that you will look back on with warmth and nostalgia for years to come.
The special bond between aunts ('maasi') and their nephew. There's so much love and excitement when a new baby joins the family, and it's a joy to capture.
About Full Family & Generations
A four-hour session is longer than your average shoot, but it is essential for groups of eight to ten people. I use this time to shift from big group portraits to smaller, intimate clusters—like just the grandparents with the grandkids or the siblings—without rushing anyone. It gives the kids space to settle in and the seniors time to relax, so we get genuine smiles and real connection, not forced poses.
Capturing the 'Khandaan' Story
There is something incredibly powerful about having multiple generations in one frame. These sessions are about more than just a family photo; they are about documenting your legacy. Whether it is at your home in Mumbai or a spacious outdoor garden, my goal is to freeze those fleeting moments of connection that you will look back on for years.
How We Make It Work
Managing a group of 8-10 people requires patience and direction. I don't believe in stiff posing where everyone is told exactly how to stand. Instead, I direct the flow of the session to ensure we cover all the necessary combinations—the full group shot, the individual nuclear families, the grandchildren with grandparents, and the sibling bonds.
Styling and Logistics
- Color Coordination: I provide guidance on color palettes before the shoot to ensure the group looks visually cohesive without wearing matching uniforms. You want to look like a family, not a team.
- Pacing for Seniors and Kids: The 4-hour window is designed to accommodate everyone's needs. If the little ones need a snack or the grandparents need a break, we take the time to pause.
- Location Choice: Large group sessions are best in environments where everyone feels comfortable, whether that is the familiarity of your own living room or an open, accessible park in Mumbai.
My approach is to keep things asli (real). When you aren't worried about the camera, that is when the magic happens.
Ritika Baheti
Hi, I'm Ritika. My daughter Divisha is the reason I started this journey, and I know how fleeting these big family moments are. I am not just there to press a button; I am there to help coordinate the chaos and make sure everyone, especially the elders, feels comfortable enough to let their real selves show.
