Celebrating Milestones: Birthdays & Beyond
I capture the messy, candid, and absolutely magical moments of your child’s birthdays. Let’s turn those chaotic cake smashes and big growth milestones into forever memories.
A first birthday cake smash is a momentous occasion. This little one, pointing up with a bit of cake on his face, is a perfect picture of curiosity and delight.
Happy fourth birthday. Holding up the number four balloon, this little girl is so proud of her new age. I love capturing these annual rituals that mark your child's growth.
Turning one is a big deal. This happy baby, sitting in the sand with her "1" balloon, is all smiles. Outdoor milestone sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate.
A milk bath session is a unique and fun way to celebrate a first birthday. Surrounded by bubbles and citrus slices, this little one's happy expression is absolutely priceless.
A quick look back at some of the beautiful, joy-filled moments I had the honor of capturing this year. Each frame tells a story of love, laughter, and family connection.
A first birthday is a family affair, and capturing the bond between a baby and his grandmother is truly special. Her loving gaze says everything about the pride and joy of being a grandparent.
A portrait of the oldest and youngest members of the family. This image of a great-grandfather holding his great-grandchild is a powerful testament to family legacy and the passage of time.
Three generations of love in one photograph. The warmth and affection shared between this baby, his mother, and his grandmother is a beautiful memory from his first birthday shoot.
A baby's first splash in the pool during his birthday celebration. This candid shot captures the pure joy and excitement of a new experience, making for a truly memorable photo.
The whole 'khandaan' together for a first birthday. Getting everyone in one frame, full of smiles and playful energy, creates a cherished portrait of the entire family.
About Celebrating Milestones: Birthdays & Beyond
Most parents worry that their toddler won’t sit still for a portrait, but my milestone sessions are the exact opposite. Whether it is a messy first birthday cake smash or a quiet annual birthday ritual, I work around your child’s energy. I let them explore, laugh, or even nap in their own space, ensuring we capture the real, unposed version of them instead of a forced studio pose.
Birthdays go by in a blink. One day you are holding them in your arms, and the next, they are running around with cake on their face. My goal isn’t to capture a perfect, stiff image for your mantelpiece; it is to document the personality they have right now.
Why I Focus on Home and Outdoor Sessions
I believe the best photos happen where your child feels safe. Whether it is your living room, the nursery, or a favorite park in Mumbai, these spaces are part of your story. My Standard Milestone & Birthday session (1.5 to 2 hours) is designed specifically for this. It gives us enough of a buffer for feeding breaks, quick outfit changes, or simply waiting for your toddler to settle into a mood where they are ready to be themselves.
The 'Mess' is the Memory
Don’t stress about the decor or whether the cake smash goes exactly to plan. If there is crying, we capture the comfort. If there is laughter, we capture the joy. I focus on:
- Candid Interactions: I look for the way your baby reacts to new sensory experiences, like the texture of icing or the bubbles in a milk bath.
- Authentic Rituals: From traditional festive setups to modern first-birthday celebrations, I incorporate your own decor to keep the shoot personal.
- Real Connections: While the focus is on your child, I always make sure to capture the bond with you—the parents and grandparents who are walking this journey with them.
I offer everything from quick Express Portrait sessions for a snappy update to longer Milestone shoots that give us the time to really get comfortable. Let’s create a record of their growth that feels like home.
