About this collection
We hand-weave each chapra using fresh green coconut leaves, right at your doorstep. Since we build these structures from scratch, we can adjust the size to fit your home's specific entrance width, ensuring it feels custom and sturdy, not just a rented backdrop.
Your home entrance is the first thing guests see. For traditional South Indian functions like housewarmings (Grihapravesha), naming ceremonies, or Seemantham, a simple doorway just does not feel right. We bring the authentic 'Hasiru Chapra' experience to your home, blending age-old craftsmanship with fresh materials.
The Craft Behind the Chapra
When we set up a chapra, we are not just putting up drapes. We use fresh green coconut leaves, intricately woven to create the canopy. We integrate auspicious elements like whole banana stems and areca nut bunches at the base of the pillars. The structure is then adorned with fresh strings of jasmine (mallige), tuberose (rajnigandha), and marigold.
Practical Planning Tips
- Space Matters: Before we arrive, ensure there is enough clearance at your entrance. Whether it is a villa gate or an apartment main door, we need space to anchor the pillars properly.
- Freshness: We use real, fresh foliage and flowers. These look best when set up on the morning of the function. We work with your schedule to ensure the flowers are at peak freshness when your guests arrive.
- Personal Touches: Do you have a specific family tradition or a particular colour of flower you prefer? Let us know. We can weave in mango leaf torans, paddy stalk hangings, or specific brass lamps to match the look you want.
We handle the setup from start to finish. You dream, v create.
