Behind the Scenes of My Creative Process
Every finished painting starts with a loose sketch or a question. Here is a look at how I practice, experiment, and learn every day to bring new ideas to life.
A glimpse into my daily sketching practice. On the left, a pencil study of a face, and on the right, a whimsical watercolor of a squirrel. These small, daily exercises keep my creativity flowing.

A pen and ink drawing with the caption "While everyone slept, I couldn't." Sometimes, creative ideas strike at night, and I have to capture them on paper.
Holding one of my abstract floral paintings during an art camp in Wayanad. Being surrounded by nature provides endless inspiration for new ideas and color palettes.
My acrylic reproduction of Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa. Studying the works of old masters is a crucial part of my artistic practice, helping me to understand technique, color, and composition.
My tribute to Vincent van Gogh's "The Starry Night." Recreating this masterpiece is a lesson in color, movement, and emotion, and it's one of my favorite paintings to study.

About The Creative Process & Studies
My daily sketching habit—often just a quick face study or a whim—is how I keep my hand moving when inspiration is quiet. Whether I am grappling with the complex anatomy in a Da Vinci study or just doodling a stray thought, this practice is the warm-up that makes the final custom commission possible, ensuring I am always ready to translate your specific vision onto canvas.
Why Process Matters
Art is not just the final coat of varnish. It is the late-night sketch when the world is quiet, or the time spent breaking down the brushstrokes of a master like Van Gogh to understand how they moved color across a canvas. My process is a blend of rigorous study and playful experimentation.
My Daily Practice
I believe that if I am not learning, I am not growing. I often set myself challenges—like completing a small 4x4 inch piece every day for a month—to push past creative blocks. You will see these studies in my gallery; they are the messy, honest experiments where I test out new palettes or try to master a specific technique before applying it to a client project.
The Study of Masters
Reproducing iconic works is a fundamental part of my training. It is not about copying for the sake of it; it is a deep dive into technique. When I replicate a Van Gogh or a Da Vinci, I am learning how they captured emotion or handled perspective. This knowledge comes straight into your home when you commission a custom portrait or mural from me. It means I have the technical grounding to handle complex requests—whether it is capturing a specific expression, layering mixed media, or working with intricate textures—with confidence and soul.
