Getting Ready Wedding Photography: Candid Moments Before the Vows
The wedding story begins long before the ceremony. I capture the quiet anticipation, the nervous excitement, and the candid support of family and friends as your day unfolds.

About Getting Ready
Getting ready is rarely just about putting on an outfit. It is the time spent with your closest people—the mother-daughter hug, the groomsmen jokes, and the quiet reflection before the chaos. I use these hours to document the details you spent months planning, like your shoes and flowers, alongside the raw, unscripted emotions that set the narrative tone for the entire day.
The Start of the Story
Many photographers treat the getting-ready phase as a preamble to the 'real' work. I see it differently. This is when the nerves are highest and the connections are most genuine. Whether it is a bride sharing a quiet moment with her mother or a groom adjusting his tie with his best friends, these are the moments that hold the most heart. My goal is to stay unobtrusive, allowing you to exist in the moment while I document the unfolding story.
Documenting the Details
You have spent months selecting your attire, your rings, and your floral arrangements. I dedicate specific time during these sessions to capture these details with an artistic eye. These flat lays and macro shots provide context to your album, serving as a reminder of the personal touches that defined your wedding day.
My Signature Approach
I shoot a significant portion of the getting-ready coverage in black and white. By removing color, I focus entirely on the light, texture, and the raw emotion of the scene. This creates a timeless, editorial look that differentiates my portfolio from standard coverage. I use professional Sony Alpha gear and a discreet Godox lighting setup to ensure I can capture high-quality images in any environment—from dimly lit hotel rooms to brightly lit family homes. My approach ensures that when you look back at these photos years from now, you will remember how you felt, not just what you wore.
