Behind the Art: My Creative Process and Pop-Ups
I’m Megha, and this is where I share the messy, beautiful reality of making art. Whether it’s a time-lapse portrait or setting up shop at a local market, these are the moments that fuel my workshops.
A time-lapse of me working on a portrait with acrylic paints. You can see the process of layering colors to build up skin tones and define features, a technique I love to share with aspiring painters.
Watch as a watercolor portrait comes to life. This video shows the delicate process of building up washes of color, from the initial sketch to the final details in the eyes and hair.
Another glimpse of my Tristellart stall at a local artisans' market. I had a great time showcasing my handmade products, including anime and comic-themed bookmarks, framed portraits, and other creations.
About Behind the Art: My Process & Pop-Ups
Honestly, art block is real, and my process isn't always pretty. When I'm layering acrylics for a portrait or prepping for a pop-up, you'll see the messy reality behind the final piece. My workshops are designed exactly like this. There is no pretension, just space to figure out your own style with materials like texture paste or mirrors for Lippan art.
Let’s talk about what actually happens when I paint. For my portraits, I’m obsessed with layering washes and building up skin tones, which you can see in my time-lapse videos. It’s not just about the final image; it’s about the flow. When I bring this into my workshops, my goal is to strip away the 'I'm not creative' label. I provide everything—heavy-body acrylics, palette knives, aprons—so you can just focus on the texture.
Whether we’re doing a 3D canvas project or a traditional Lippan mud and mirror piece, it’s about that therapeutic feeling of getting your hands dirty. My pop-ups around Bengaluru are where I really connect with people, showing off everything from resin accessories to custom bookmarks.
If you’re looking to host an event, I bring that same mobile setup to your office or home. We’ll skip the boring lectures and actually create something, whether that's a collaborative team mural or individual tote bag art. It’s about your vibe and our craft, messy brush strokes and all.
