Behind the Art: My Creative Process

byAnesha ArtgalleryDelivered across BengaluruView full gallery

Every stroke, mirror, and pattern I create begins with a moment of quiet meditation. From my studio in Bangalore to the art fairs I love to attend, here is a glimpse into how my handmade pieces come to life.

Finding my center through meditation in nature. This peace and connection is what I strive to pour into every piece of art I create.

Celebrating the festival of lights, Karthigai Deepam, at home with my rangoli and handmade decorations. These traditions are a deep source of inspiration.

A wider view of my art stall, filled with a variety of paintings and crafts. It's a dream come true to have a space to share my passion.

A quiet moment holding a diya during the Karthigai Deepam festival, surrounded by my plants.

The warm glow of diyas on my festive rangoli. These moments of light and color inspire many of my creations.

Meditating under a large, ancient banyan tree at night. There is a powerful, calming energy in such places that I carry with me into my art.

About this collection

Every piece I create begins as a moment of stillness, whether I am working with epoxy clay for a Lippan design or dotting a mandala. Since I craft everything by hand, please keep in mind that custom orders require a little extra time to ensure the finish is durable and exactly what you envisioned. If you have a specific deadline, such as a festival or a housewarming, send me a message so we can plan the timeline together.

My Process: From Meditation to Creation

My studio is rarely a silent place, but it is always a peaceful one. When I sit down to work, the process is very similar to my meditation practice. It is about patience. Whether I am mixing texture paste for a Lippan wall hanging or layering acrylics for a Pichwai canvas, I treat each step as a deliberate, thoughtful choice.

Why I Use Modern Materials

You might notice my Lippan art has a distinct finish. I prefer using epoxy compounds and texture paste rather than traditional river mud. This choice is practical for our city living; it makes the pieces more durable, moisture-resistant, and crack-proof, so you can enjoy the art for years without worrying about it falling apart in our changing Bangalore weather.

Connecting at Art Fairs

The most rewarding part of my work is meeting people at fairs like Chitrakala Parishat. Being able to explain the story behind a piece or helping a family choose the right Ganesha motif for their entrance is what makes this worthwhile. If you have seen my work at a stall or online and want something similar for your home, I am always open to discussing custom ideas.

How We Can Work Together

Most of my art is made in small batches or one-off creations. If you see a style you like but need different dimensions or a specific colour palette to match your pooja room or living area, we can absolutely customise it. Just let me know what you are looking for, and we can start from there.
