I create immersive dance experiences where traditional Bharatanatyam meets modern storytelling. These productions weave together poetry, mythology, and live music to bring new concepts to life.

A sneak peek into my production "Sharad: Rising through Fall". This piece explores the season of autumn through the poetry of Kalidasa, Sangam literature, and even the Bengali Dhunuchi Naach, all woven together with Bharatanatyam.

A moment from "Sharad" where I use smoke and lighting to create an ethereal, autumnal atmosphere on stage. This production was my first full-length thematic work, from concept to choreography.

Rehearsing for "Karunaada Maanye", my tribute to the River Cauvery. This production is based on a beautiful Kannada poem by Harini GNT, my husband's grandmother, making it a very special family collaboration.

The poster for "Matr̥: The Infinite Cord", a production celebrating motherhood, which we premiered at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. It was an honor to share the stage with my guru for this special theme.

A photo from "Sharad" where the costume, with its flowing, multi-colored skirt, was designed to represent the changing colors of autumn leaves.

A powerful moment from "Sharad" where I perform a fiery dance in obeisance to Devi, connecting the autumn season to the festival of Navaratri and Durga Puja. The red lighting and digital projections amplify the energy.

The use of digital art and illustrations was a key highlight of "Sharad". Here, you can see how we projected images of a tree and the goddess's eyes to create a multi-layered visual experience.

A beautiful collage shared by a friend, showing the poetic visuals from "Sharad". The top image captures a moment of solo dance, while the bottom shows the integration of digital art.

A joyful moment from "Sharad". This production was a journey of exploring new creative boundaries and shedding inhibitions, much like the season of fall itself.

The stage lighting, designed by Surya Rao, was crucial in creating the mood for "Sharad". The beams of light, like rays of an autumn sun, added so much to the performance.

About Thematic Productions: Stories Reimagined

When I build a thematic production, I look for threads that connect the old to the new. Whether it is weaving Bengali Dhunuchi Naach into the seasonal poetry of 'Sharad' or choreographing a tribute to the River Cauvery, my process starts with a script and a concept. These performances are not just recitals. They are full-scale collaborations where live Carnatic music, professional lighting design, and digital art come together to tell a singular story.
