Real Boxing Sparring and Competition Training
The ring is where the real work happens. Our weekly sparring sessions are designed to test your defense, strategy, and grit against real opponents.
A heated sparring session between two of my talented young boxers, Priyanshu and Siddhesh. This is where they learn to handle pressure, think on their feet, and apply the techniques we practice. Iron sharpens iron.
A powerful sparring session between my students Siddhesh Pawase and Malhar Bhosale. You can see the intensity and focus as they trade punches and work on their defense. This is how we prepare for real fights.
A coach is more than just a teacher. He has been through the same phase of life. This sparring session shows the importance of having experienced guidance in your corner.
A glimpse of me sparring with one of my students, Ayaan. After 2 years, it feels good to be back in the ring, moving and trading punches. I lead by example.
This is what victory looks like. My student Malhar Bhosale, after training with me for 2 years, defeated a much more experienced boxer with a knockout. This is a highlight from the Global Boxing Series.
The moment of victory. The referee raises the arm of one of my students during the DSO Boxing tournament held at our academy. This is the culmination of months of hard work.
The face-off before a bout at the NMMC DSO Tournament. You can see the focus and determination in the eyes of these young fighters. The ring is set, and they are ready.
About this collection
Sparring isn't just about fighting; it is about finding out if your technique holds up when someone hits back. In our weekly sessions at Marine Centre, we focus on controlled intensity where you learn to manage your breathing and keep your guard up under pressure. You need your own hand wraps and gloves, and every exchange is supervised by me or Coach Darshak to ensure you are learning, not just swinging.
Why Sparring Matters
Many people want to jump into the ring immediately, but the ring exposes you fast. If your footwork is sloppy or your guard is low, you will know it within thirty seconds of sparring. We run these sessions not to hurt each other, but to grow. You will be practicing southpaw versus orthodox tactics, learning how to cut off the ring, and mastering distance management—things you simply cannot learn hitting a heavy bag alone.
The Process
We keep our sparring controlled. You won't be thrown to the wolves. Beginners start with light touch-sparring to get used to the movement. As you advance through our monthly or quarterly programs, the intensity increases.
- Conditioning: We pair sparring with calisthenics and Indian pushups to ensure you have the gas tank to finish the rounds.
- Safety First: You must have your own 10oz or 12oz gloves and hand wraps. We monitor every exchange to ensure technique is the priority, not ego.
- Tournament Prep: If you are training for DSO or inter-club matches, we ramp up the simulation rounds to match tournament conditions.
We do not do 'show boxing'. We train for results. Whether you are prepping for a state-level bout or just want to see how you hold up in the ring, this is where it happens.
Marine Centre Boxing Academy
I am Siddharth Varma. I have fought 157 times across India, and I know exactly what it feels like to stand in that ring and face an opponent. My academy is built on the belief that a ring should not be a scary place—it should be your second home.
