I blend my Bharatnatyam roots with the fun of Bollywood to create expressive choreography. It is all about storytelling, mudras, and enjoying the process.

A snapshot from a semi-classical workshop I conducted in Bangalore. It was a lovely Sunday teaching my choreography for the song 'Ve Maahi' to an enthusiastic group of learners.

Another pose from my dance session in Coorg, reaching upwards with a graceful hand gesture. This shows the expressive potential of semi-classical dance, which I love to explore in my choreography.

A dynamic semi-classical pose captured in Coorg. The movement in my kurta and the active posture show how this dance form combines the structure of classical with the freedom of contemporary styles.

My mandatory birthday reel! This video shows a semi-classical performance to 'Rang Sharbaton Ka' in a beautiful park. It's a challenge to balance passion with being a new mom, but dance always finds a way.

A close-up shot from my birthday dance performance. The pose, with classic mudra hand gestures and a gentle smile, captures the essence of the semi-classical style I teach.

Going classical with this one! I truly enjoyed dancing to the beautiful music of 'Jiya Jale'. This performance, set in a garden, incorporates Bharatnatyam and Mohiniyattam elements into a semi-classical piece.

A short, expressive performance dedicated to 'Meera ke prabhu'. This seated choreography focuses entirely on facial expressions and hand gestures, a key part of my semi-classical and Bollywood classes.

A semi-classical performance to the song 'Ek Dil Ek Jaan'. The beautiful indoor garden setting complements the graceful and heartfelt choreography.

A semi-classical fusion dance to a song from the movie 'Lagaan'. This piece, filmed outdoors, blends traditional movements with a cinematic feel, showing the versatility of my choreography.

A fun, energetic dance to the trendy song 'Gulaabi Sharara'. This shows the more playful and modern Bollywood side of my choreography, perfect for anyone who just wants to dance and have a good time.

About Semi-Classical & Bollywood Fusion

In my sessions, we focus on more than just the steps. We begin with 15 minutes of classical-based conditioning, then dive into the song to understand the lyrics. I teach you the specific hand mudras and facial expressions that make semi-classical dance look so graceful and emotive, rather than just movement.

My dance style bridges the structure of classical Bharatnatyam with the freedom of Bollywood. Whether you are a complete beginner or have danced before, my goal is to help you feel the music and tell a story with your movements.

What to Expect

Most of my semi-classical sessions are structured as intensive, 3-hour workshops. During this time, we cover:

  • Conditioning: A short warm-up to prepare the body and focus the mind.
  • Lyrics Breakdown: I believe dance needs to reflect the song's meaning, so we spend time understanding what the lyrics are actually saying.
  • Technical Basics: You will learn specific hand gestures (mudras) and how to use your eyes and face to convey emotion (abhinaya).
  • Choreography: We build a complete routine for a song, usually 1.5 to 2 minutes long, that you can perform with confidence.

These classes are perfect if you are preparing for a wedding performance, a festival, or just want to pick up a new skill on a Sunday afternoon. You don't need years of training, just the willingness to try something new. I love working with people who want to move with grace, and I keep the environment relaxed and supportive. If you have a specific song you have been dying to dance to, reach out and let's work on it together.

I'm Mansi, and for me, dance is pure prayer. I blend my Bharatnatyam training with the joy of Bollywood, focusing on the story you tell with your expressions rather than just perfect steps. I love helping people find their rhythm, regardless of whether they have ever danced before.
