About Semi-Classical & Expressive Choreography

When we work on semi-classical routines, we do not just focus on the speed of your feet. We start by understanding the lyrics and the 'bhav' (expression). It is about learning how to tell a story with your eyes and hands while maintaining the technical grounding of classical forms, even if we are dancing to a modern track.

Many people think semi-classical dance is just about wearing an Anarkali and spinning. In my classes at Abhinav Nrityashala, it is about the foundation. We break down 'tatkar' (footwork) and 'hastaks' (hand gestures) so you develop the strength to execute clean movements. Whether you are dancing to 'Ghar More Pardesiya' or a contemporary fusion track, I focus on helping you find that internal rhythm.

We do not rush. We practice to build stamina and grace, which is why I keep my group sizes small. This allows me to personally correct your posture, ensuring you feel confident whether you are dancing in the studio or recording a video. If you have always wanted to bridge the gap between classical technique and Bollywood flair, this is exactly where we start. Every movement, from a simple turn to a complex sequence, is a chance to express yourself and gain confidence.

I am Anjna, and I believe dance is the best way to tell your story. At my studio, we are not just memorizing steps; we are building a family where you can be yourself, learn at your own pace, and find your rhythm.
