About The Magic of Acrylic Pouring
You might walk in thinking you aren't an artist, but acrylic pouring is the great equalizer. We focus on techniques like the 'dirty pour' and 'flip cup' where the science of the paint and silicone oil does the heavy lifting for you. It’s less about control and more about watching the colors react, so come ready to get a little messy and leave your expectations at the door.
Acrylic pouring is my go-to style for a reason—it’s impossible to get it 'wrong.' Whether we are working on canvases or coasters, the goal is to let the colors flow and see what patterns emerge.
What we cover in the studio
In my sessions, I skip the boring theory. We dive straight into the fun stuff: how to mix your paints to get those stunning, vibrant cells, and how to use torches and air to manipulate the flow.
- The Express Session: Perfect if you're short on time or just want to try it out. We usually spend 30-45 minutes on a quick pour. You'll walk out with your artwork in a transport box.
- The Signature Mindful Pour: This is for when you really want to switch off. We start with a 15-minute breathing exercise to get into the right headspace, then spend two hours on a larger canvas. It includes a beverage and a high-gloss varnish finish.
Bringing the art to you
If you have a team, a group of friends, or a birthday to plan, I bring the studio to your location in Bangalore. I cover your floors, bring the drop cloths, and handle all the cleanup—because the only thing you should worry about is what color to pour next. I can even match the color palettes to your event's theme or company branding.
Can't make it to a physical session? I ship DIY kits across India and run online classes. Art doesn't need to happen in a fancy studio to be real. It just needs you, some paint, and the willingness to let go.
Surekha Sundaram
Hi, I'm Surekha. I started painting during COVID to find my way back to myself, and now I'm sharing that messy, colorful process with you. I don't believe in right or wrong ways to create—I just want you to find a little calm and a lot of fun in the mess.
