About Our Learning Philosophy in Action
One specific way we handle different learning speeds is through our tiered activities. If we are teaching sequencing, we break the class into small groups where some are just starting to recognize numbers while others are ready to count objects. This ensures no child gets bored waiting for others or feels left behind, because the challenge level is matched to them, not the whole group.
At our Kothanur and Thanisandra campuses, we move away from traditional, desk-bound teaching. Instead, we use a hybrid model. We borrow the structure and focus on concrete materials from Montessori, but we infuse it with the freedom and creativity of the Play-Way method.
Why this matters for your child:
- Independence: Whether it is building with pink towers for spatial awareness or engaging in sensory play, our materials are child-sized and accessible. We want kids to initiate their own learning, which builds immense confidence.
- Small Batch Focus: With a maximum of 7 to 12 children per group, our teachers aren't just managing a classroom; they are observing each child. If your child is fascinated by insects but struggling with handwriting, we pivot to use bugs as the theme for their writing practice.
- Learning without Labels: We focus on teaching children how to think, not just what to think. By avoiding rigid, one-size-fits-all worksheets, we encourage children to solve problems using whatever is available. This is how we turn a simple session of 'Market Day' or a cooking activity into a lesson on math, social skills, and executive functioning.
