Classic Newborn Portraits: Simple and Sweet
Sometimes, the most beautiful images are the simplest ones. This collection celebrates your baby in their purest form, using soft textures and natural poses to capture those fleeting early days.
A classic "head on hands" pose on a soft, neutral blanket. This angle beautifully highlights the baby's delicate features and full head of hair, topped with a tiny crown.
Another variation of the classic posed portrait. This close-up captures the sweet, sleepy smile and the baby's tiny hands framing their face.
The "tushy up" pose is a newborn photography classic. It shows off their sweet little back rolls and peaceful sleeping face on a simple, clean background.
A pop of color can make a simple portrait stand out. This baby is posed on a vibrant red and teal background, highlighting their beautiful skin tone.
A simple and sunny portrait with a bright yellow wrap and background. This classic side-lying pose is perfect for capturing the baby's profile and chubby cheeks.
Adding a tiny, soft toy can create a sweet and sentimental portrait. Here, the baby is cuddling with a felted bunny, adding a touch of tenderness to the shot.
Draped in delicate pink lace, this little princess is sleeping peacefully. This simple beanbag pose is enhanced by the texture of the fabric and surrounding flowers.
A close-up portrait that focuses entirely on the baby's face. Without any props, you can truly appreciate their perfect, tiny features.

About Simple & Sweet: Classic Portraits
I use specific beanbag posing techniques that keep your baby feeling safe, secure, and relaxed. Since these shoots rely on gentle wraps and textures rather than elaborate props, the focus stays entirely on your baby’s delicate features and sleepy, peaceful expressions.
Why Simple is Best
When a baby is just a few days old, they are in their peak sleepy-cute phase. I prefer to keep setups minimal during this time because the magic is in the details: the curve of their cheek, the way they curl their tiny fingers, and that serene, sleeping face.
The Studio Experience
My studio in KR Puram is fully temperature-controlled to ensure your little one stays comfortable. We use high-quality, hypoallergenic stretch wraps and soft knit bonnets that soothe the baby and create a womb-like sense of security. Because we are not moving through complex sets, the pace remains slow and relaxed, allowing for feeding breaks whenever your baby needs them.
The Ideal Window
I recommend scheduling your session while your baby is between 5 and 20 days old. This is the sweet spot for those peaceful, curled-up shots that parents adore. If you have missed this window, please reach out anyway. We can absolutely capture beautiful portraits up to 3 months, though the posing style might shift slightly to match their naturally increased alertness and curiosity.
Preparing for Your Session
Since this is an in-studio experience, I handle all the wrapping, props, and soothing. You just need to bring the baby and keep a feed handy. We focus on a few distinct looks to ensure variety without overwhelming the newborn, delivering high-resolution images that are perfect for framing.
