By setting up my props, wraps, and lighting beforehand, I ensure that the studio environment is already serene and ready. When you arrive, we are not fumbling with logistics; we are simply focusing on settling your baby and capturing those perfect, quiet moments.

Why I Choose a Minimalist Approach

I believe that your baby is the centerpiece of the portrait. In my studio, I avoid cluttered backdrops or overly busy props that might distract from those tiny fingers, soft eyelashes, and the unique expressions of your newborn. My 'Timeless' style relies on neutral tones, soft textures like cotton wraps and wool, and gentle natural lighting. This ensures that the focus remains entirely on your child, creating an image that will look just as elegant in ten years as it does today.

The Importance of the 'Magic Window'

If you are planning your newborn session, timing is everything. The ideal window for these classic, curled-up poses is between 5 and 10 days after birth. During this time, babies are naturally sleepier and much more comfortable in the fetal positions we see in these photos. After the two-week mark, babies tend to stretch out and become more alert. While I am more than happy to photograph older babies—and we can capture beautiful, awake portraits—the signature 'curled-up' look is best achieved in those first few days.

I pre-wash all fabrics, sanitize my props, and maintain a warm, comfortable temperature in the studio to keep your little one settled. My goal is to make the experience as relaxed for you as it is for the baby, giving you the time to sit back with a cup of tea while I handle the rest.
