My philosophy with these giant bakes is simple. I want them to be indulgent without that heavy sugar rush. That is why I stick to a less-sweet buttercream and quality butter instead of oil for the sponge. The giant cookie pies are deep-dish and usually 6 to 7 inches wide, often stuffed with centres like Nutella or rich dark chocolate ganache.
