The Path of Progress: Belt Grading Exams
Every belt in Taekwon-Do is earned, never given. These exams are where our students demonstrate the grit, technical precision, and discipline they have built in the Dojang.
It's time to level up! This graphic announces our upcoming belt grading, a day where students get to demonstrate their progress and earn their next rank.

About The Path of Progress: Belt Grading Exams
An exam day here is a test of character as much as skill. We assess every student on three pillars: fundamental technical knowledge like stances (Sogi) and punches (Jirugi), traditional patterns (Tul), and controlled sparring. You are not just memorizing moves, you are proving you can execute them under the pressure of a formal grading environment.
We adhere strictly to the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF) curriculum. When you step onto the mat for a grading, you are following a global standard that ensures your rank holds weight anywhere in the world.
What we test:
- Technical Proficiency: From stances to strikes, we look for the 'Sine Wave' power generation that makes ITF Taekwon-Do unique.
- Forms (Tul): This is the physical story of the patterns. We look for precision, breathing, and intent.
- Theory: There is a mental component. We expect students to understand the meaning and history behind the techniques.
Passing a grading exam is a milestone. It validates the sweat you have put into your training sessions at our CR Park or Kalkaji dojos. We bring in senior masters to preside over these sessions, maintaining the integrity of the belt system. Whether it is your first yellow stripe or an advanced color belt, this is the moment where your consistency in training turns into a tangible, recognized achievement. You will need to arrive prepared, with your Dobok clean and your sparring gear ready if required for your level.

I am Arka, and at Legends, we do not believe in participation trophies. I run these gradings because a belt should mean you have put in the work, faced your fears, and earned your rank through sweat and study. Join us, and let us see what you are capable of.
