About My Design Process & Tips

Most people focus only on the finished paint and furniture, but the real quality happens during the site execution. Whether we are selecting specific mosaic tiles for your bathroom or managing the installation of complex joinery, I document every step of the handover process. This transparency ensures that what we plan in the 3D visuals is exactly what you get when you finally step into your finished home.

Behind the Scenes of a Home Transformation

Design isn't just about beautiful renders; it is about the grit, planning, and management that happens on-site. When I take on a project, my focus is on bridging the gap between a design concept and a livable reality.

Material Selection Matters

I believe in touch and feel. You will often find me visiting vendors to pick handmade stone cladding, mosaic tiles, or unique textures like Nano Topping. Why? Because a material that looks good on a screen might not have the durability or finish needed for high-traffic areas like kitchens or hallways. I want you to know exactly what is going into your home, from the plywood grade to the quality of the marble.

The Reality of Site Supervision

I share these behind-the-scenes glimpses because there is a lot of hard work involved before the 'reveal' photo. It is about coordinating contractors, checking LED measurements, and ensuring that custom furniture is wrapped properly during transit. My process is built on being upfront about these stages. If there is a delay or a specific installation challenge, I address it early.

Practical Design Tips

Beyond the construction, I share tips to help you maintain your space and elevate it over time:

  • Lighting is Key: A single painting or corner changes completely under different lighting temperatures. Always plan your cove and spot lighting together.
  • The Modern Neutral: Don't be afraid to use navy blue or deeper grey tones as neutrals. They provide a sophisticated backdrop that pastel furniture can pop against.
  • Storage Logic: If you are planning wardrobes, think about the internal layout—velvet-lined drawers for accessories or motorized lifts for high-up storage—before you finalize the external look.

Ultimately, my goal is to guide you through the process so you feel confident and excited, rather than overwhelmed, by your home transformation.
