The first few days are pure magic. Those peaceful, curled-up newborn poses happen best when your baby is 5 to 15 days old. Let’s capture these tender first hellos together.

About Newborn Sessions: The First Hellos
I always tell parents that the 5 to 15 day window is crucial for getting those sleepy, curled-up shots. Don't worry if your little one is feeling a bit fussy or full-on 'mast' (naughty) during the session. As an engineer, I am a bit of a tech geek with my lighting gear, but my real job is simply to stay patient and wait for those genuine, quiet moments to unfold naturally.
The Engineer’s Approach to Newborns
Photography is half art, half science. When I’m setting up for a newborn session, my engineering background kicks in. I ensure my lighting, like the Godox setup I use, is balanced and soft, creating a safe environment that doesn't overwhelm your baby. My goal is to capture those fleeting expressions—a little yawn, a stretch, or a tiny smile—without forcing poses.
Why the 5-15 Day Window Matters
I consistently recommend booking your session when the baby is between 5 and 15 days old. During this phase, newborns are generally sleepier and more comfortable in those classic, cozy, swaddled positions. It is the 'magic window' where we can get the most serene portraits without disturbing their rhythm.
My Process: Comfort First
Whether you choose to visit my studio in Kopar Khairane or have me set up a mobile studio at your home in Mumbai, comfort is the priority. I bring sanitized, boho-style wraps, baskets, and props that complement your baby's delicate features.
- Mobile Studio: If you prefer not to travel, I bring the studio to your living room. This includes full backdrop installation and lighting configurations.
- Family Inclusion: These sessions aren't just about the baby. I always encourage parents and grandparents to hop into the frame. Capturing the connection between a newborn and their family is what makes these images timeless.
Everything I do is aimed at making sure you feel relaxed. When you are comfortable, your baby is calm, and that is when we get the best photos. If you have a specific cultural theme in mind or a simple, classic look, let me know and we will plan the session around it.

I’m Lakhan, and I swap my engineer’s toolkit for a camera to document your family’s newest arrival. I keep things simple and classic because those first smiles and yawns don’t need a complicated backdrop to be beautiful.
