Coordinated Couple and Family Outfits

Designing for couples and families is where I really get to have fun with creativity. Whether you are looking for a subtle match where the groom’s pocket square complements the bride’s blouse embroidery, or a full-family theme for a Seemantham, the goal is to make everyone look like a million bucks without feeling forced.

My Approach to Family Sets

• The Balancing Act: For couples, I often use a contrast technique. If the bride is in a heavy Kanchivaram silk, I might design a silk kurta for the groom with matching border fabric or embroidery detailing to tie the looks together.
• Custom Embroidery: I love adding personal touches. If we are doing matching outfits for a parent and child, I ensure the embroidery is kid-friendly—soft linings and no scratchy edges—while maintaining the same level of hand-worked detail you see on the adult outfits.
• Fabric Selection: I work with everything from pure Kanchivaram and velvet to airy organza. For large family events or weddings, we start with a consultation where we finalize the base fabrics first to ensure the color palette stays consistent across all outfits.

Off-the-rack outfits rarely fit a whole family perfectly. By choosing custom, you get outfits tailored to your body type, with 3D floral motifs, specific neckline styles, and back cuts that you actually want to wear. Plus, for kids' outfits, I always add 3-4 inch inner margins so you can adjust the fit as they grow.
