Dressing up for festivals and family functions is special, especially for the little ones. I design custom ethnic wear—from traditional pattu pavadai sets to colorful lehengas—that keeps them looking cute while staying completely comfortable for all-day wear.

A little client dressed in a custom langa blouse for Varamahalakshmi pooja. The skirt is sky blue with a rich purple border.

I designed this traditional South Indian half-saree lehenga for a puberty ceremony. The rich yellow and red silk fabric is perfect for such a grand occasion.

A beautiful purple and gold pattu pavadai. The pleats are designed to give the skirt a lovely flair when she walks and twirls.

This is a cute and modern langa blouse design. I used a bright pink and yellow combination and added a large bow for a playful touch.

A classic langa blouse in blue and pink. The half-saree style dupatta is perfect for little girls.

A colorful traditional lehenga set for a little girl. The dark green skirt is paired with a yellow embroidered blouse and a pink bandhani dupatta.

About this collection

When I stitch these sets, comfort is my non-negotiable rule. Every lehenga and langa blouse I make is finished with a soft, itch-free cotton lining, and I always add 2-3 inch hidden margins inside the fabric so the outfit lasts through your child's growth spurts.

Finding traditional wear that doesn't irritate a child's skin is a struggle, which is why I design with that specific challenge in mind. Whether it's a pattu pavadai for a Varamahalakshmi pooja or a lehenga for a wedding, the structure matters as much as the look.

What goes into the design

Each set is built for both durability and style. I use premium art silk, brocade, or semi-Banarasi fabrics for that classic festive look, but I pair them with a full-coverage cotton lining. For the blouse, I use Princess-cut drafting for a better fit, and I finish the skirt with structural can-can layers if you want that extra bounce for photos.

Customization Details

  • Handwork: I incorporate Maggam and Zardosi embroidery on the necklines and sleeves to match the festive mood.
  • Adjustability: I know how fast kids grow, which is why all my skirts come with adjustable waist hooks and hidden margins.
  • Finishing: No loose threads or rough seams. I finish every piece with traditional latkans and dori tie-ups to ensure it looks and feels professional.

How to get started

If you have a fabric in mind or want a specific color combination to match the family theme, bring those ideas to my studio in Basaveshwar Nagar. Since I work on each piece from scratch, I recommend planning ahead, especially during wedding and festival seasons when my schedule fills up faster. Let’s create something that makes your little one feel like a star.
