Traditional Lehengas & Pattu Pavadai for Kids
Timeless ethnic wear handcrafted with authentic silk and soft cotton linings, designed for comfort during festivals and ceremonies.
This little one is celebrating her naming ceremony in a custom pattu pavadai I designed. I used a beautiful pink Banarasi silk and focused on making it comfortable for her, with a soft cotton lining inside. It’s so important to me that children feel happy and can move freely during their special occasions.
This is a traditional Kalamkari pattu langa with a modern twist. I used authentic Kalamkari fabric for the long blouse and paired it with a silk skirt that has a beautiful pattu border. It’s a wonderful choice for girls who want a classic yet unique look for festivals or weddings.
The beauty of this lehenga is in the details. I created this off-white crop top lehenga with intricate, multi-colored thread embroidery depicting traditional figures. It's a piece that tells a story, designed for an older child to wear at a special family wedding or event.
I designed this matching pair of bright yellow lehengas for two sisters to wear at a Haldi ceremony. The design features a simple crop top with ruffled sleeves and a checked Banarasi silk skirt with a traditional border, making it a cheerful and event-appropriate kids ethnic wear set.
Here is a more contemporary take on the crop top lehenga. I designed the top with dramatic, layered organza ruffles for a modern silhouette. The skirt is made from a shimmery, striped fabric, creating a stylish and unique party wear lehenga for kids.
About Traditional Lehengas & Pattu Pavadai
When I design a Pattu Pavadai or lehenga, my focus is always on your child’s comfort – that means every skirt includes a soft, pre-washed cotton lining to ensure zero itching while they play. I also build in a 2-inch growth buffer inside every blouse, so these outfits can comfortably fit your child even as they grow over the coming months.
For me, traditional ethnic wear is about more than just looking good for photos. It is about heritage and the joy of dressing up for festivals like Diwali, Navratri, or a naming ceremony. I work with authentic fabrics like Pattu Silk, Banarasi, and Kalamkari, ensuring each piece is as durable as it is beautiful.
My process is transparent. If you choose a traditional lehenga or pattu pavadai, we start by selecting a fabric that suits your child's personality. Whether it is a classic deep-colored silk for a wedding or a lighter Kalamkari print for a casual pooja, I ensure the skirt has the right volume without being heavy. I specialize in intricate Maggam work using Zardosi, beads, and stones, creating motifs that feel special yet age-appropriate.
I understand that kids have sensitive skin, which is why the 'no-itch' promise is central to my work. Every blouse is finished with careful piping on the neck and sleeves, and the lining is exclusively pure cotton. Because I want these outfits to last, I design them with 2-inch margins, making it easy for you to alter the fit later. If you are looking for something specific, like a matching sibling set or a custom color theme for a haldi ceremony, we can sit down and plan it out at my Annapurneshwari Nagar studio. I am here to ensure that your child feels confident, comfortable, and happy in their traditional attire.
