We are a French-Indian collective of artists bridging cultures through music, theatre, and storytelling. Explore the moments, rehearsals, and performances that bring our world to life.

The meaning behind our name, Lilanoor. 'Lila' means play in Sanskrit, while 'Noor' means light in Arabic. Together, they represent the 'Light of the Arts', which is the guiding principle for our ensemble and music center.

A quote from Anubhuti Sharma, a core faculty member for our Indian Voice Program. She shares our vision of creating a space to explore the rich world of music without hierarchies or prejudice.

A selfie of our team at the airport, ready to tour. As an international collective, travel is a huge part of our life, allowing us to share our French-Indian productions with the world.

A candid selfie of our multicultural artists during a residency in the French countryside. These moments of connection and collaboration are where our creative ideas are born.

About this collection

Our home in South Delhi is more than just a studio; it is a dedicated performance space where we regularly host intimate shows, jams, and workshops. If you are looking for a venue for a private performance or a creative workshop, you can visit us, see the stage setup, and talk to our team about hosting your next event here.

At Lilanoor, we believe art is a form of 'Lila' (divine play) and 'Noor' (light). We are not a fixed band, but a rotating family of French and Indian artists—singers, actors, puppeteers, and instrumentalists—who come together to create shows that challenge borders. Whether we are touring with a production like 'Sangam' or 'Buried Treasures' or running a vocal circle at our center, the focus is always on collaboration.

Our Philosophy

We don't stick to one genre. You might find us blending Baroque music with Hindustani classical, or turning an old folktale into a modern theatrical piece. Our goal is to create a safe space for expression where students and professional artists alike can find their voice without the pressure of rigid hierarchies.

The Lilanoor Center for Voice and Music

Our center in South Extension II, New Delhi, is where our daily work happens. It is a hub for:

  • Performances: Our 'performance space chéri' (darling performance space) is equipped for live music, readings, and screenings.
  • Learning: We offer structured yet accessible classes in Indian and Western voice, piano, guitar, and drums.
  • Workshops: From theatre to music composition, we host sessions for all skill levels.

We love keeping our doors open to the community, so whether you are an artist looking for a stage or a student looking for a teacher, you will find a welcoming vibe here. Et c’est parti—come by and see how we work.
