From a small Delhi studio to a global community, we are a mom-and-daughter team helping everyone find their creative voice through live, interactive art sessions.

The great debate: online vs. offline classes! Here we are, the mom-and-daughter team behind it all, having a bit of fun. The truth is, the best class is the one that works for you, and we're happy to offer both.

A bittersweet memory from our last day of in-person classes in Delhi before our big move. While we miss the studio chaos, we're so grateful that online classes let us stay connected with our wonderful students.

This is why we do what we do. A heartfelt, handmade card from our students Ahaan and Anush. Messages like this mean the world to us and fuel our passion for teaching.

A quick hello from me, Smriti, co-founder of Culture Chauraha! We offer online art classes for both kids and adults, and we'd love for you to join our creative community.

A proud group photo from our last Annual Art Exhibition, "Through the Eyes of a Child." It's one of the most exciting times of the year, celebrating the incredible work of our students.

What's the secret ingredient to making something special? We think it's the belief that it IS special. This video shows different art forms we teach, from clay work to painting, all made special by the artist's touch.

A thought on the "plague of perfection." We believe in creating a safe space for experimenting and enjoying the process, rather than worrying about a perfect outcome. Art is a journey, not a destination.

Getting into the spooky spirit! Here I am with a fun Halloween window display I painted. We love incorporating art into every part of life, especially holidays.

We were thrilled to collaborate with @societyofreset to explore how art can be a powerful tool for resetting your mind and finding tranquility. For us, art is the ultimate form of self-care.

A look back at our year, full of changes, new beginnings, and amazing art. From the Van Gogh exhibit to the India Art Fair and our bustling classes, we're grateful for every moment.

About Our Story: A Mom & Daughter at the Crossroads

What actually matters is the connection, which is why we cap our live online sessions at 8 to 10 students. Whether you are an absolute beginner in New Jersey or a long-time student calling in from Delhi, we want to make sure you get the same real-time feedback and personal encouragement we used to provide in our physical studio.

Culture Chauraha means 'crossroads,' and for us, that has been our reality. What started as mom’s (Ritu Aunty’s) art classes in Delhi back in 2016 became so much more. We have dealt with relocations, the pandemic, and moving our entire setup from India to the US, but the art kept us going.

We learned that the best art spaces aren't defined by walls—they are defined by the people inside them. When we had to shut our physical Delhi studio, we didn't want to lose that sense of community. So, we moved our classes online. We kept the small batches, the real-time interaction, and the focus on the 'basics' like line, color, and space.

We don't believe in gatekeeping art. You don't need a fancy degree or expensive gear to start. Our classes are designed to be a 'jugad' (clever fix) for busy lives, offering flexible timings across IST and EST time zones. Whether it is our junior art foundation for kids or our creative courses for adults, our goal is to get you past the 'I-can’t-draw' phase.

We also try to keep things accessible with our 'pay-as-you-like' weekend workshops. It is our way of inviting you to explore mediums like watercolor, charcoal, and acrylics without pressure. We want you to feel the same 'high' we do when we get lost in a canvas. If you are curious about our teaching style, we suggest hopping into one of our trial sessions to see how we work.

We are Smriti and Ritu, a mom-and-daughter team that believes art is a learnable skill, not a secret talent. We started in a cozy Delhi studio and now connect with students globally, sharing our passion for painting and drawing through live, small-group sessions.
