Watercolor Memories: Custom Art of Places You Love
I use professional-grade watercolors to turn your travel photos, childhood homes, or cityscapes into vibrant, lasting art. Let's capture your favourite memory on paper.
A watercolor painting of a beautiful home in Konkan, created on paper. I painted this after a long time and really enjoyed capturing the lush greenery and rustic architecture using a reference photo from Pinterest.
Another scene from the beautiful Konkan region, painted with Daniel Smith watercolors. It's always a delight to work with this medium, capturing the reflections in the water and the vibrant greens of nature.
This watercolor of Konkan was a break from my usual cityscapes. Painting foliage is always a good challenge, and I enjoyed capturing the layers of green and the traditional house nestled in the trees.
This is the Ponte Vecchio bridge over the Arno River in Florence, painted with my favorite Daniel Smith watercolors. I developed this 12x12 painting on Baohong cold press paper from a smaller sketch I had made.
A small watercolor sketch of the Ponte Vecchio, which served as a study for a larger painting. Sketching helps me capture memories from my trips and plan out future artworks.
A street in Florence, painted in watercolor on a half imperial sheet of Baohong cold press paper. Capturing the light and shadow on the historic buildings brings back wonderful memories of my trip to Italy.
Remembering my solo trip to Pisa with this watercolor painting. I did several intensive sketches of the city during that hot summer month, and this work was done in my studio based on those memories.
A beautiful evening in Pisa, captured in watercolor on Lanaquarelle paper. I used Daniel Smith watercolors to recreate the warm, atmospheric light of the city at dusk.
A cityscape of Pisa, Italy, which was displayed at the IWS watercolor festival in Noida. This piece captures a quiet street scene with a focus on perspective and light.
This painting of Bologna, Italy, was also exhibited at the IWS watercolor festival. It shows a bustling street leading to one of the city's iconic towers, painted from my travel references.
About Watercolor Journeys: Places and Memories
When you commission a watercolor piece from me, I do not just copy a photo. I use professional Daniel Smith pigments and archival 300 GSM paper to recreate the light, texture, and emotional pull of your specific scene. Whether it is a quiet village home from your childhood or a bustling street from your travels, I help you translate those memories into something tactile that you can hold, frame, and keep.
My watercolor process is deeply rooted in the urban sketching style. This means I focus less on rigid, photorealistic details and more on capturing the atmosphere, the play of light on a wall, and the mood of the moment. I want the final piece to feel like a memory, not a digital print.
My Material Standards
I never compromise on quality. Every commission is painted on 300 GSM cold press paper, like Baohong, which provides the necessary texture and durability. I use artist-grade Daniel Smith paints because they offer the color depth and lightfastness required for artwork meant to last for years.
The Commission Process
- Share Your Story: Send me the reference photos that mean the most to you. It could be an old ancestral home, a cafe from your honeymoon, or a busy street that reminds you of home.
- Planning: We discuss the focal points. If you have specific memories attached to the space, tell me about them. I incorporate these nuances into the composition.
- Painting: I work on these in my studio, often layering colors to build richness. The turnaround time is usually 5-7 days.
- Delivery: Your painting arrives unframed as a loose sheet, signed and dated by me, packed carefully in a reinforced mailer so it reaches you in perfect condition.
Whether you are looking to gift a painting to a loved one or want to preserve a personal travel memory, I am here to help. Reach out if you have a specific scene in mind.
