Digital and Modern Indian Art
I use digital tools to tell timeless stories. From detailed monochromatic illustrations to textured portraits, these modern pieces keep the heart of tradition alive.
For Shiv Jayanti, I created this monochromatic digital illustration. It's a collage celebrating the life and legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, depicting key moments and figures from his story in a single, powerful image.
This is a digital portrait of a sadhu, created using Procreate on my iPad. I focused on capturing the texture of his hair and beard, and the peaceful, meditative expression on his face.
About Digital & Modern Indian Art
When I create a digital portrait, I focus on the expression first, just like I do with canvas. I use Procreate to layer details, and I always share the draft with you so we can make adjustments until it feels exactly right.
While I spend much of my time with brushes and canvas, my iPad has become another sketchbook for capturing moments quickly. Digital art allows me to experiment with textures and lighting in ways that bring a different kind of life to familiar themes.
My Digital Process
I start every digital piece with a rough sketch, focusing on the composition and the emotion of the subject. Whether it is a monochromatic illustration of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj or a textured digital portrait, I focus on layering light and shadow to create depth. Because this medium is flexible, it works well for portraits where you want to see specific details like hair texture or facial expressions clearly.
Why Go Digital?
Many of my clients choose digital art for specific needs:
- Printable Decor: You receive a high-resolution file that you can print on paper, canvas, or even mugs and t-shirts.
- Modern Aesthetics: The clean lines and bold contrasts of digital media suit modern home interiors perfectly.
- Gift-Ready: These make for unique, personalized gifts where we can incorporate personal cultural elements, specific attire, or meaningful backgrounds.
Customization and Collaboration
Just like my physical paintings, my digital art is custom. I do not use templates. I draw every stroke by hand on my iPad. I share the work-in-progress sketches with you so we can refine the details together. You will know exactly what the final piece looks like before I complete the shading and final details. This ensures the soul of the subject—the peace in a sadhu’s expression or the regal power of a portrait—is captured just the way you imagined it.
