Adventures in Storytelling Summer Camps
We turn classic children's books into lived experiences. At our Montessori-inspired summer program in Hoodi, kids step inside their favorite stories to learn, create, and explore at their own pace.
Our first summer camp batch was all about the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. We explored books like "The Cat in the Hat" and "Fox in Socks" through themed sensory play, fireless cooking, and creative art projects that brought these classic rhymes to life.
About this collection
We don't just read stories here; we build a world around them. When we explore a book like The Cat in the Hat or an Eric Carle classic, your child isn't just listening to rhymes; they are making tactile crafts, mixing sensory bins based on the characters, and trying fireless cooking recipes inspired by the plot. It is about making abstract ideas concrete, messy, and fun for little ones aged 2 to 8.
Why Story-Based Learning Matters
At Kinfolk, we believe children learn best when they are fully immersed. By centering our two-week camp batches around specific authors like Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, or Julia Donaldson, we provide a cohesive framework for development. This method moves beyond reading and turns a book into a platform for motor skills, social interaction, and creative expression.
What Your Child Experiences
Each morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, children engage in activities designed to bridge the gap between imagination and reality.
- Process Art: We prioritize the act of creating—sculpting, painting, and foraging—over the final product, allowing children to focus on their own journey.
- Sensory & Life Skills: From fireless cooking sessions that teach kitchen basics to sensory bins filled with textured materials, kids learn practical life skills without even realizing it.
- Outdoor Integration: Our 1.5-acre campus in Seetharampalya is our primary classroom. We take storytelling outside, using our garden and mud kitchens to explore themes found in the books we read.
A Community, Not a Classroom
We keep our groups mixed-age, which encourages mentorship. Older children develop leadership and patience, while younger ones feel supported and inspired. Whether it is a scavenger hunt to find a storybook character or a dance session to burn off energy, we ensure every child finds their rhythm. We invite you to visit our Hoodi campus to see how we make these stories come alive.
Kinfolk Montessori
I started Kinfolk because I wanted a space that felt like a second home, not a busy school maze. We follow the Montessori method, trusting your child's pace and curiosity to guide the learning process every single day.
