We transform our Seetharampalya campus into a vibrant space where imagination meets learning, hosting authors and puppeteers for little folks aged 2 and up.

Our Kinfolk Literature Festival brings together celebrated storytellers, authors, and puppeteers. This event poster highlights the incredible lineup we host to inspire a love for reading in children and families.

The legendary storyteller Geeta Ramanujam from Kathalaya mesmerizes our audience. Her visit was a highlight of the festival, bringing ancient tales and new stories to life with her expressive art form.

We were honored to host Geeta Ramanujam, founder of Kathalaya. Her storytelling sessions, complete with puppets, are a masterclass in engaging young minds and fostering a deep appreciation for narrative.

Award-winning author Nandita Rao shares her excitement about joining our Literature Festival. We love connecting our children with the creators behind the books they love.

A storyteller engages a young reader during a book signing at the festival. These personal interactions make literature more accessible and exciting for our little folks.

The talented puppeteers from Puppetarians, formerly of Sesame Street, brought their delightful characters to our festival. Their show was a perfect blend of humor, learning, and pure joy.

About this collection

Unlike typical book fairs, our festival is built entirely for young children. We swap long aisles for interactive zones like Dabble PlayArt painting, sensory setups, and live performances by professionals like the Puppetarians, ensuring your child experiences the story rather than just listening to it.

At Kinfolk, we believe literature is the foundation of early education. Our festival is designed to move beyond the page, helping children connect with language through active play and tactile experiences.

What happens at the festival?

We focus on age-appropriate engagement for children aged 2 to 6. Our lineup is carefully chosen to introduce kids to different formats of storytelling:

  • Performance Art: We host professionals like Kathalaya founder Geeta Ramanujam, who uses puppetry and expressive movement to bring tales to life, making them accessible to even our youngest learners.
  • Creative Interaction: With Dabble PlayArt stations, children use non-toxic, child-safe paints to visualize characters from the stories they just heard. It is messy, fun, and vital for their creative growth.
  • Author Sessions: We invite writers like Nandita Rao to engage directly with the children, demystifying the process of book creation and making reading feel like a conversation rather than a chore.

Why we do this

Our Montessori background informs everything we do, including our events. We believe that when children see stories performed, touch the materials used in crafts, and meet the people who create these works, they develop a deeper, more personal relationship with books. This isn't just entertainment; it is about building a community of readers in Whitefield. Parents, grandparents, and children participate together, reinforcing the idea that education is a partnership between home and school. Whether you are looking for a weekend activity or a way to get your toddler excited about reading, our campus in Hoodi offers a space where every story is heard and every child is invited to play.

We built Kinfolk to be more than just a school; it is a second home where we follow the child's pace. We do not just teach the alphabet, we create experiences that spark curiosity, whether it is through muddy nature walks or magical storytelling sessions like this festival.
