About Newborn Sessions: The First Few Days
I know a newborn session can feel daunting, so I block out 3 to 4 hours for every shoot. This isn't because we are rushing, but because we aren't. This time allows for plenty of feeding, comforting, and soothing to keep your baby calm. We only move to the next pose when your little one is completely settled and safe, so you can sit back and watch the process unfold.
A Safe, Gentle Studio Experience
Newborns are most comfortable and sleepy during their first 5 to 15 days of life. That is when I can safely pose them in those curled, peaceful positions. My Mahim studio is a dedicated space for this, fully equipped with sanitized wraps, bonnets, beds, and buckets, ensuring your baby is always in a hygienic environment.
Themed Sessions with a Personal Touch
While I focus on capturing simple, natural portraits of your baby's features, I also love building narratives. Whether you want a rustic camping setup, a starry night theme, or something soft and floral, we work with props that are safe and curated for newborns. I have specific training in posing techniques, such as the froggy or taco pose, which are executed with the utmost care.
What Happens During the Session
- Environment: The studio is climate-controlled and kept quiet to ensure your baby stays asleep.
- Pacing: Your baby dictates the pace. If they need to feed or be held, we pause immediately. There is never a rush.
- Parent Involvement: I include skin-to-skin shots with parents and protective poses with siblings, so the whole family feels part of the story.
- Deliverables: You receive high-end retouched images where skin tone, such as jaundice or baby acne, is naturally corrected. Every package includes soft copies, and some include a physical coffee table book to keep on your shelf.
