Wildlife Photography and Nature Encounters
From the misty Western Ghats to the wild corners of Mumbai, I capture the spontaneous wildlife moments that often go unnoticed in our busy lives.
A juvenile Hanuman Langur sitting peacefully in a field of green. This was one of my favourite portraits of 2024, a year filled with beautiful sightings.
Another shot of the Hanuman Langur, featured in an article about my work. These monkeys are intelligent, social animals and are always a joy to observe.
"It's all about the light!" A juvenile Hanuman Langur soaking up the sunlight on a fine winter morning. Being in the right place at the right time is key in photography.
A Montane Trinket snake, a reminder that wherever there is wildlife, I'll be there to tell their stories. My fascination with nature started in childhood and continues to this day.
A Hanuman Langur looks up, surrounded by lush green grass. It's a privilege to gain the trust of wild animals and watch them in their natural element.
A Praying Mantis in a classic defensive pose, shot on my phone. This shows that you don't always need a big camera to capture the drama of the insect world.
About Additional Work
Often, the most memorable shots happen when I am not hunting for a specific species. This collection captures those spontaneous moments, whether it is a juvenile langur soaking up the winter sun or a praying mantis shot right on my phone. Nature is unpredictable, and I keep my camera ready for exactly these kinds of unscripted interactions.
While my primary focus often stays on reptiles and specific bird species, photography is fundamentally about observation. Whether I am trekking through the Northern Western Ghats or exploring local biodiversity hotspots in Aarey, my goal remains the same: storytelling. You will see a mix of gear here, including mobile shots and professional telephoto work. It is a reminder that you do not always need a massive setup to capture the drama of the wild. If you join me for a private herping or macro expedition, we focus on these same principles, learning to read alarm calls and spotting camouflaged subjects that most people walk right past. These varied encounters have shaped my approach to both rescue and conservation, teaching me patience above all else. Whether you are a beginner with a smartphone or a serious enthusiast with a mirrorless camera, I help you learn how to anticipate these movements, adjust your composition for the golden hour, and frame the beauty of the natural world.
