About Artisanal Prints & Handwork
I pay as much attention to the inside of your blouse as the outside. Every piece with ari or zardozi embroidery features concealed finishing and under-taping, so you never have to deal with scratchy threads against your skin. I also design each blouse with 2-inch margins on both sides, giving you total peace of mind for easy adjustments in the future.
My process is rooted in the belief that a blouse should be as unique as the woman wearing it. Whether you are choosing an earthy, breathable slub cotton ikat for a work day or a heavy silk base for a wedding, I focus on the construction that makes the fabric sing.
Why my artisanal pieces are different
- Precision Stitching: I use an industrial lock-stitch with overlocked inner seams. This prevents fraying and ensures your garment lasts through years of festive wear.
- Structural Integrity: For my heavy embroidery and statement pieces, I use molded cups and sometimes light boning. This prevents the waist from rolling and ensures your blouse stays crisp, just like a designer piece.
- The Fabric Choice: My collection celebrates materials like Chanderi silk and handwoven mull cotton. I carefully select fabrics that offer a natural sheen or a soft drape, ensuring they feel good against the skin, especially in Mumbai's humidity.
Styling your handwork
If you are opting for hand-embroidered blouses with lotus motifs or geometric ari work, I recommend keeping your saree simple. Let the blouse be the focus. For those wanting a more contemporary look, my color-blocked ikat designs with pink or gold piping bring a fresh, modern vibe to traditional handloom. I am always happy to consult on neckline depth or sleeve length to ensure the final fit flatters your silhouette perfectly.
