Kānike means 'gift' in Kannada. This is a collection of moments from our studio—a space where we celebrate analog processes, handmade art, and the community that brings it to life.

A group of creators completely absorbed in one of our botanical ink painting workshops. We love hosting these intimate sessions where artists can gather around a table, share ideas, and learn a new skill together in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Here is a look inside our dedicated darkroom, illuminated by the glow of the UV lightbox. This space is the heart of our alternative photography offerings, fully equipped for processes like cyanotype, Vandyke brown, and gum bichromate printing.

An artist sets up a portrait using a vintage large format camera for a wet plate collodion shoot. Our studio supports these historic and meticulous photographic processes, offering a unique space for photographers dedicated to the craft of analog image making.

An art installation transforming our studio into an immersive experience with grass-covered floors and paper-lined walls. The space is a blank canvas, perfect for artists who want to create unique, thought-provoking exhibitions and installations.

Our studio is a wonderful venue for intimate neighborhood shows and acoustic music nights. We love filling the space with melodies and bringing people together for an evening of art and connection.

A wide view of our main studio area, filled with natural light from the large windows. The flexible wooden tables and open layout can be easily configured for workshops, exhibitions, photo shoots, or community gatherings.

Our resident cat, Julie, often makes an appearance during workshops to inspect the creative process. She is a beloved part of the Kānike family and embodies the warm, homely vibe of our studio.

An artist proudly stands next to her work during an open house event. We provide a clean, professional gallery setting with white walls and track lighting, making it an ideal space for artists to showcase their creations to an engaged audience.

About Featured

When you visit Kānike, you aren't just renting a space—you’re stepping into an active studio environment. Our main floor is flexible, meaning the tables you see used for pottery classes might be cleared for a weekend gallery show or an acoustic set. If you are planning an event or workshop, be ready for a 'raw' artistic vibe with natural light, concrete floors, and a focus on intimate, hands-on connection rather than polished, corporate perfection.
