Press, Features & The Journey
Grateful for the love and platforms that have shared my story. From London basements to global radio, here is a look at the journey behind the sound.
A huge thanks to Mixmag Asia for featuring the 'Lush Lata Selects' compilation. It's an honour to have my track 'CQB' mentioned and to be part of an article showcasing India's underground scene.
The headline from the Mixmag Asia feature. Seeing "India's Ever-Evolving Underground" in a major publication is a massive moment for our entire community.
The cover for my feature in The Outsiders. This interview was a chance to talk about my journey, from my early days with the tabla to embracing Virgil Abloh's 3% philosophy.
A quote from my interview with The Outsiders. I spoke about how important it is to read the room and develop the skill of selection, something I learned from some of the best DJs in the scene.
A look at the magazine spread for my 'Drenched In Tunes' feature. It was cool to see my story and my approach to blending desi vibes with global electronic music laid out in print.
The flyer for my guest mix for 'FILTH Invites'. I used this opportunity to create a fast-paced, rhythmic mix inspired by the dancefloor, blending techno, bass, dubstep, and grime.
My 'Salty' stat sheet before a gig in Hyderabad. It's a fun look at my stats as a DJ, from my average BPM to the wide range of genres I play, including house, afro, UKG, bass, and global desi.
Going back-to-back with one of the other DJs at the Jägermeister DJ Akademie showcase. The red light, the energy, the collaboration, it was a proper vibe.
About Press, Features & The Journey
My sound is not just about playing tracks. It is about the transition from those early days playing the tabla in Delhi to producing UK garage and bass edits today. These features tell the story of that evolution, showing how I learned to read a room, pick the right records, and build a set that bridges my roots with the global dancefloor.
The journey behind the Kalbaisakhi name is rooted in honest storytelling and a obsession with finding new sounds. The press and interviews you see here, like my feature in Mixmag Asia or the sit-down with The Outsiders, are not just badges of honour. They represent the years of digging for records, playing in empty rooms before hitting bigger stages, and finally finding the sweet spot between desi percussion and UK bass.
When you read about my 'Lush Lata Selects' compilation or my thoughts on the underground scene, you are getting a look at how I approach music. I believe in taking something that already exists and twisting it just enough to make it fresh. Whether it is an interview about my production process or a recap of a show, these pieces show that I care about the context of the music I play.
I do not just press play. I build a sonic identity for your event that pulls from grime, jungle, Punjabi samples, and whatever else the night needs. This archive of interviews and features is the best way to understand my perspective on the underground scene before we start working on your lineup or soundscape. If you want a DJ who brings technical skill and a deep understanding of genre blending to your next party, take a look at the history here.
Kalbaisakhi
I am Vibhu, or Kalbaisakhi to most. I spent my early years learning tabla before getting hooked on the underground scene, and now I spend my time blending those desi roots with global club sounds. If you are looking for someone who understands how to build a real sonic journey for your event, that is what I do best.
