Stripping away color to reveal the raw narrative in every expression. Timeless, moody portraits created in my Whitefield studio, focused on light, shadow, and your story.

An intense and direct black and white headshot. I used a single light source to create this high-contrast, chiaroscuro effect, drawing all attention to the subject's powerful gaze.

This full-body monochrome portrait plays with negative space and form. The simple pose and dark background create a minimalist and elegant composition, perfect for a model's portfolio.

A quiet, introspective moment captured in black and white. The soft lighting and closed eyes convey a sense of peace and vulnerability, making for a deeply personal portrait.

This is a bold and confident activewear portrait. The black and white treatment emphasizes the subject's strong physique and the clean lines of the outfit, creating a powerful fitness fashion shot.

A classic portrait where the wind adds a touch of life. The black and white conversion brings out the texture of her hair and the honesty in her expression, resulting in a simple yet captivating headshot.

A strong and moody portrait of an actor. The black and white format enhances the dramatic lighting and his serious expression, creating a compelling character study for his portfolio.

Capturing a moment of pure, uninhibited joy. This candid black and white portrait shows that monochrome can be just as effective for capturing happiness as it is for drama.

About this collection

I shoot these sessions with a specific focus on high-contrast lighting, often using Rembrandt or butterfly patterns to define facial structure. You will notice that I prefer a minimalist approach; we keep the background neutral, usually charcoal or deep black, so the focus remains entirely on your gaze and expression.

When color is removed, you cannot hide behind an outfit or a vibrant backdrop. Black and white photography forces us to confront the subject's essence—their mood, their confidence, and the unspoken narrative behind their eyes.

In my studio at Prestige Shantiniketan, I guide my subjects through poses that are not just about looking good, but about feeling present. We often start with a conversation to understand what you want to convey. Are we looking for the grit of a character study, or the soft, contemplative vulnerability of a classic portrait?

Technically, these sessions are a study in control. I manipulate light to create chiaroscuro—a balance of light and dark that adds depth and drama to the frame. Whether it is a professional headshot for an actor or a creative fashion piece, the goal is to produce images that feel heavy with intent, not just aesthetic.

Every session includes a pre-shoot consultation where we decide on the mood. We do not just snap photos; we construct them. I handle the styling direction, whether you are a dancer needing to capture movement or an entrepreneur seeking an authoritative image. Once the shoot wraps, my post-production focuses on preserving skin texture while refining the contrast to ensure the final gallery is print-ready and timeless.
