Why Black and White?

Color can be a distraction. In monochrome portraiture, the focus shifts to the shape of the features, the depth of the eyes, and the specific texture of the light. Whether we are shooting in the studio or outdoors in Bangalore, my goal is to create images that feel grounded and real.

Studio vs. Outdoor Monochrome

• In the Studio: Here, I control the environment completely. Using rim lights and soft keys, I can sculpt your features, creating dramatic contrasts that are difficult to achieve otherwise. This is ideal for professional headshots or a high-fashion look.

• Outdoors: This is about finding the right shade and texture. I look for natural frames, like the architecture or trees in Bangalore’s parks, to create a scene that complements your personality without relying on color palettes to set the mood.

The Process

Monochrome isn't just a filter. It requires a different way of seeing during the shoot. During our pre-shoot consultation, we will discuss the mood you want to convey. If you are looking for something intense and cinematic, or perhaps soft and contemplative, we will plan the lighting setup accordingly. You will receive high-end edits that emphasize these deep blacks and crisp whites, ensuring the final images have that specific, clean aesthetic I am known for.
