Black and White Portrait Photography in Bangalore
Strip away the distraction of color. In my Whitefield studio, I use dramatic lighting and high-contrast composition to capture the raw mood and soul of every portrait.
A dramatic black and white portrait of a model with the "wet look," wearing a silver top and black blazer. The high-contrast lighting creates a powerful, editorial feel.
Another shot from the "wet look" series, this time with the model's eyes closed, conveying a sense of calm intensity. The monochrome edit emphasizes the textures of the wet hair and clothing.
A classic black and white fashion portrait. The model is in a black bodysuit and fishnets, and the lighting sculpts her form against the grey background.
A closer-in black and white shot of the model in the bodysuit, focusing on her direct gaze and confident pose.
A high-contrast black and white portrait of a model with long braids and graphic eyeliner. The white background makes the subject pop, creating a striking editorial image.
A full-body black and white shot from the braids series, showcasing a dynamic, low-to-the-ground pose that is both strong and artistic.
A graceful black and white photo of a model in a one-shoulder black dress. The lighting and pose create an elegant and timeless fashion portrait.
About this collection
Monochrome is not just about removing color. In my studio, it starts with light sculpting. I use rim lights and controlled shadows to highlight texture, whether it is the intricate detail in lace, the curve of a silhouette, or the raw emotion in a gaze. It is about creating a mood that feels timeless before I even touch the shutter.
When you remove color, the focus shifts entirely to the subject, the posing, and the lighting. My monochrome work is grounded in the belief that the strongest fashion and editorial images often live in black and white.
The Studio Experience
Based in Whitefield, our studio setup is designed for precision. I use professional 2 to 3 light setups to create high-contrast, commercial results. Whether we are shooting a high-fashion editorial look or a clean portrait for your comp card, the lighting is calibrated to define your features and create depth.
Why Monochrome?
I often recommend a monochrome edit for clients looking for a timeless, high-fashion aesthetic. It works exceptionally well for:
- Editorial Spreads: Emphasizing the structure of your styling and makeup.
- Portfolio Building: Making your expressions the focal point without color interference.
- Concept Photography: Exploring themes like dramatic shadows, light-and-shade play, and high-contrast moody portraits.
Working Together
Photography is a collaborative process. I work closely with makeup artists and stylists to ensure every detail, from the graphic eyeliner to the texture of your wardrobe, is captured perfectly. If you are a fresher, do not stress about the posing. I provide direction throughout the session to get those authentic, sharp images.
We provide 10 to 20 magazine-quality retouched images per session, depending on your package. All files are optimized for both social media and high-resolution printing. If you have a specific vision, we can discuss the moodboard before the shoot.
