Our 100-Year Legacy: The Story of Kadimi Sweets

From my father's small shop in the early days of Bhogal to four generations later, we have kept the same recipes alive. Discover the history behind the sweets and snacks Delhi has trusted for a century.

An interviewer asks me about the history of Kadimi Sweets. I explain how my father started this small shop, how we got our name 'Kadimi' which means 'oldest' in Farsi, and how we are now training the fourth generation.

People often ask how we maintain the same quality for 100 years. The answer is simple: we follow the exact systems and recipes my father created. Our Bedmi with aloo ki sabzi tastes the same as it did in his time.

While all our sweets are loved, some items like Boondi Choor ka Laddoo, Dhoda Burfi, and Dal Biji Namkeen are special favorites. I talk about our signature items that customers have been enjoying for decades.

Hearing from our customers is the best part of our day. For over 32 years, some have been coming for our Rabri, Samosas, and Gajar ka Halwa, their loyalty is our biggest reward.

About this collection

When you visit us, you are tasting the exact same Bedmi Puri and Aloo Sabzi recipe that my father, Sultan Singh ji, perfected when this shop started in 1925. We do not change our systems or take shortcuts, which is why a customer who came as a child now brings their own grandchildren to taste the same, familiar flavour.

The name 'Kadimi' is a Farsi word that means 'the oldest,' and we have lived up to that name for four generations. My father started this shop when Bhogal was just developing, and he built a system of quality that we still follow strictly today.

We believe that the secret to a century of success is not in changing with every trend, but in staying true to the basics. Whether it is our pure desi ghee preparations or our No Onion No Garlic catering, every dish is made with the same patience my father insisted upon.

We have seen weddings, festivals, and daily family gatherings across three and four generations of our customers. This is why you will find that our Moong Dal Halwa or Kaju Katli tastes just as it did decades ago. For us, this shop is not just a business, it is a living history of the community in Jangpura. We invite you to experience this connection, whether you are picking up a box of sweets for a festival or ordering bulk food for a family function.
