Living and Dining Interior Designs
Your living and dining areas should work as hard as you do while still feeling like a sanctuary. I focus on creating open, functional layouts that balance your storage needs with your personal aesthetic, whether that's Indo-contemporary warmth or modern minimalism.
This living room in 'The Flux Abode' project features a textured grey media wall and rich walnut cabinetry. The design combines contemporary sophistication with warm, natural materials for a balanced and inviting feel.
The dining area in the same home includes an expansive crockery and bar unit with mirrored accents and fluted glass. The walnut wood and neutral tones create a cohesive flow from the living space.
An existing niche in the living room was transformed into this cozy reading alcove with a built-in bench and storage. The patterned wallpaper and arched frame add a playful yet elegant touch.
Here is a wide view of the renovated 'Blue Elegance' living and dining room. The space is unified by a soft, neutral palette, elegant floral wallpaper, and modern lighting, creating a sophisticated communal area.
In 'The Boho Escape', the living room features a mint green sofa with cane details and a textured back wall. The design uses natural materials and soft colors to create a tranquil, bohemian-inspired atmosphere.
The dining nook in the same home uses an L-shaped bench with custom upholstery to maximize seating in a compact corner. A gallery wall of family photos adds a personal touch and conceals an electrical box.
For the 'Nordic Grey Apartment', I used a monochrome palette and clean lines. Ceiling rafters and a large gridded mirror create an illusion of height and space in this compact living room.
This living room from the 'Muditā' project showcases an elegant palette of wood, beige, and cream. I used vertical flutes and framed wallpaper panels to add texture and sophistication to the space.
The dining area in the 'Muditā' home features a custom bench seater and a marble-top table. A lit bar and crockery unit with glass doors provides a beautiful display and separates the space from the kitchen.

About Living & Dining Spaces
Living and dining spaces often suffer from clutter and awkward transitions. I focus on clever space-planning here, such as integrating hidden storage like console units that double as dining tables or TV panels that hide wires behind fluted paneling. It is about designing a space that does not just look good in photos, but stays functional when you actually live in it.
Rethinking Your Layout
A beautiful living room is pointless if you cannot move through it comfortably. Many homes in Bangalore suffer from narrow corridors or dining areas that feel like an afterthought. My design process starts with your actual routine. If you need a formal dining space that converts into a workspace, or a living room that needs to seat five but stay open for a toddler to play, we figure that out first using realistic 3D visualizations before we touch any materials.
The Indo-Contemporary Approach
My signature style, Indo-contemporary maximalism, works particularly well in living and dining zones. We mix materials to create visual depth without making the room feel small. Think Athangudi tiles paired with sleek wooden fluting, or textured concrete walls softened by cane furniture and warm ambient lighting. It provides character without the maintenance headache of true antique decor.
Storage That Disappears
If your apartment feels tight, we prioritize hidden storage. We design TV media units that hide cables and set-top boxes, and crockery units with fluted glass that display your best china while keeping the rest tucked away. We often incorporate mirror paneling or gridded partitions to reflect light and double the perceived volume of your dining nook.
Our Process
- Conceptualization: We review your site and floor plan to identify structural limitations early.
- Visualization: You see your home in 3D, so there are no surprises during construction.
- Execution: My team manages the entire project, from carpentry to electrical point relocation, aiming for a 60-day delivery for turnkey packages.
We avoid cookie-cutter designs because every Bangalore home has a different light, size, and set of challenges. We solve for those, not for a magazine cover.
