Living & Dining Interior Design
Your living and dining areas are where life happens. We design these spaces to blend comfort with personality, using custom partitions, functional storage, and flowing layouts that work for your daily routine.
A quick walkthrough of a cohesive living and dining area, showcasing an open-plan layout. Notice the flow from the modern kitchen with its breakfast bar to the dining space with its unique wavy console and arched metal partition.
This project, the "White Haven," is a study in serene, minimalist design. The living room features a clean TV unit with fluted details, while the dining area is defined by a bold, graphic wallpaper and pops of dusty rose in the seating.
A glimpse into a bright and airy living room from a recently completed villa project. The design features a neutral color palette, a sleek floating TV unit against a marble-finish wall, and floor-to-ceiling curtains that enhance the sense of space.
This dining area showcases minimalist elegance with a contemporary design. The space is defined by a sleek marble-top table, comfortable upholstered chairs, and a built-in bar and crockery unit, all set against a calm grey wall.
Here, I created a tranquil corner in a living room using a modern glass and metal partition to subtly separate the space. A serene Buddha artwork serves as the focal point, complemented by lush greenery and comfortable seating.
This custom console table is a centerpiece, featuring a unique wavy design on the shutters created with layered, colored panels. It sits below an elegant arched metal partition that separates the dining and living areas without closing them off.
A view from the living room sofa, looking past the arched metal partition towards the dining area and kitchen. This design choice maintains an open feel while creating distinct functional zones.
This perspective from the kitchen island shows how the dining and living areas connect. The wooden false ceiling over the dining table helps define the space, while the metal partition adds a layer of visual interest.
I designed this classy foyer console to make a strong first impression. The deep blue unit with fluted details is paired with abstract art, creating a sophisticated and welcoming entry point to the home.
Welcome to "Miyu House," a home designed for beautiful calm. This living area features a soft, neutral sofa, a custom fluted coffee table, and a pop of mint green in the floating TV console, creating a peaceful, Japanese-inspired aesthetic.
About Living & Dining Spaces
The biggest challenge in most apartments is defining living and dining zones without making the home feel smaller. We often use open metal-and-glass partitions or textured feature walls to separate these areas. This approach keeps the light flowing while giving each space a distinct purpose. Whether you need a hidden bar unit near the dining area or a floating TV console that keeps floor space clear, we focus on layouts that actually make sense for how you move through your home.
How We Design Open-Plan Homes
In our work, we try to move away from the rigid, sharp-angled layouts that can make modern apartments feel boxy. Projects like Casa Curva demonstrate our preference for organic shapes and soft curves that naturally guide movement. Conversely, for projects like White Haven, we focused on minimalist elegance to maximize the perception of space.
Living Room Essentials
Your living room needs to balance hosting capabilities with everyday comfort. We specialize in floating TV units that integrate hidden wire management, ensuring the visual clutter is kept at bay. We are big proponents of using fluted panels, marble-finish laminates, or accent textures to create a focal wall that draws the eye without overwhelming the room.
Functional Dining Areas
Dining rooms are often overlooked, but they present a great opportunity for personality. We frequently design custom crockery and bar units that balance open shelving for display with closed cabinets for storage. We like to use profile lighting inside these units to add depth. If you want to define the space, a sleek divider or a false ceiling element over the table can distinguish the dining zone from the kitchen and living room without the need for solid walls.
Material Choices That Last
Because these are high-traffic zones, we prioritize durability. We use BWP (Boiling Water Proof) marine ply for the carcass of all built-in units and suggest scratch-resistant laminates or acrylic for surfaces that face heavy daily use. Our goal is to ensure your furniture looks as sharp five years from now as it does the day we finish the installation.
