Iyengar Yoga for me is more than just movement - it's about tuning into your body and mind. I always begin with a short invocation, Yogena chittasya padena vacham..., just to slow things down and get everyone focused. You don't need fancy skills to start, just a bit of curiosity and willingness to listen to your body.
I guide you with clear instructions - sometimes mixing English with Hindi because, you know, samajhna important hai (understanding is important). I believe in alignment-based yoga classes, so you'll hear me say things like "lift your armpit up" or "dorsal spine body ke andar jaata hai" (the dorsal spine moves inside the body). If you're unsure, I help you adjust with hands-on support.
Props, like yoga ropes, chairs, blocks, bolsters, and belts, make a huge difference. Iyengar yoga props help you get into postures safely, whether you're a first-timer or have some experience. Even if you have back pain or need modifications, I'm here to guide - this is therapeutic yoga for back pain and other issues.
Open to all - beginners, experienced folks wanting to refine, people with injuries, or even expectant mothers looking for yoga for pregnancy. I adjust asanas to suit your needs, so you never feel left out.
Classes run for 90 minutes, three times a week. We move through standing poses, twists, backbends, and restorative postures. I always say, thoda samay lo (take your time) - don't rush. Restorative poses and Savasana help you truly unwind.
Morning and evening batches available.
