This is the first look into my Iyengar yoga classes. It shows the discipline, the focus on alignment, and how we use props to make yoga accessible and effective for everyone. These visuals give you a true sense of the work we do here.
The Iyengar Method: Precision with Props
In my classes, props are not a crutch; they are tools for intelligence. We use ropes, chairs, blocks, and bolsters to understand correct alignment, access difficult asanas safely, and deepen the body's awareness in each posture. This method allows every student, regardless of stiffness or experience, to work correctly.
Restorative & Therapeutic Yoga
These sessions are for deep rest and healing. We use extensive support from bolsters, blankets, and benches to hold poses for longer, allowing the nervous system to calm and the body to release chronic tension. This is especially beneficial for managing back pain, stress, and fatigue.
A Class For Every Body
Yoga is for everyone. I adapt asanas for all levels, from complete beginners to experienced practitioners. We also have specific sequences for prenatal students and those with physical limitations, ensuring everyone can practice safely and effectively.
Building the Foundation: Asana Practice
A typical class moves through a sequence of standing poses, twists, forward extensions, and backbends. I provide clear, direct instructions, often in a mix of English and Hindi, focusing on the anatomical details to build strength and stability. I give hands-on adjustments to help you find the correct form.
