Behind the Scenes: Custom Resin Preservation & Art
Every piece I create in my studio carries a piece of your story. Here is a look at the love, the mess, and the magic that goes into turning your memories into forever keepsakes.
Let's make the tiniest frame with me. This video shows the process of creating a small teakwood frame with a preserved photo and flowers.
A little glimpse from the everyday chaos. This is me in the act of creating, surrounded by the tools and materials of my art.
Only resin artists can make it snow anywhere. The dust from buffing and sanding looks like snow, but it's a crucial step to get that perfect smooth finish.
Trust the process and enjoy it. This video shows the satisfying pour of clear resin over carefully arranged flowers and photos.
In making. A look at how I build up layers in a large frame, preserving earrings, shells, and photos.
This is my relationship with my art. Every piece gets my full attention and love, especially when making these Diwali return favors.
I changed the setting of my room for a change, and I love it. A little time-lapse of me cleaning and reorganizing my creative space.
Forever a work in progress. This video shows the delicate process of placing items into the resin before the final pour.
I love my job, but some days are hard. This video shows the heartbreaking moment a mold tears during demolding. It's all part of the handmade process.
If you know, you know. Applying the top coat is the most important step for that glossy, perfect finish.
About From My Hands to Your Heart
Before you commission a piece, it is important to know that my work is not about factory-perfect precision. Everything I make is crafted by hand in my studio, so you might occasionally find a tiny bubble or a slight variation in the resin finish. This is simply the nature of the medium and the mark of a truly human touch, not a defect. It is real, it is honest, and it is a piece of my heart sent to your home.
How I Preserve Your Memories
Art for me is about saving stories. Whether it is your shaadi ki varmala, baby keepsakes like first shoes, or a handwritten note, I treat every item with the same care I would my own. My process is a labor of love, consisting of several critical steps:
- Dehydration: I carefully preserve fresh flowers using silica sand, a process that takes 7 to 14 days to ensure they retain their shape and color.
- Layering: I use high-gloss, non-yellowing epoxy resin, pouring in multiple layers up to 2 inches thick to create a sturdy, glass-like finish.
- Finishing: Once cured, I demold, hand-sand the edges, and apply a final flood coat for that signature glossy look. This is the stage where you might see the 'snow' from my buffing tools, a sign that a piece is nearing completion.
The Reality of Handmade Art
I believe har art piece ki apni story hoti hai (every art piece has its own story). Sometimes, things don't go as planned. Molds can tear, or the weather might affect the curing time. I share these struggles because they are part of the process. When you choose a resin keepsake from me, you are not just getting a product; you are getting a tangible piece of my studio’s journey, created with intention and a little bit of creative chaos. From the alphabet lamps glowing on your nightstand to the wall clocks in your living room, I am grateful for the chance to make something meaningful for you. ॐ नमः शिवाय.
Latika Pasricha
I'm Latika, and my studio is where memories find a forever home. I studied sculpture in Delhi, but my true passion is saving the moments that matter—your kaleera, a precious invitation, or your baby's first milestones. My work is personal, often a bit messy, and always filled with gratitude.
