About My Creative Process
When you order a piece from me, it is not just resin and pigment. I start by carefully drying your flowers—whether it is a varmala from your big day or a first bloom—to keep the colors vibrant. Then comes the layering: I pour, wait for the perfect cure, and add those tiny details like your name or wedding date. It is a slow process because good art cannot be rushed, but that is how I make sure your memories are actually 'forever, not fragile.' 🧿
People often ask me, 'Soumya, why resin?' Honestly, it is cheaper than therapy! 😝 But really, it is about capturing those fleeting moments—the wedding date, the baby’s first keepsake, the varmala you can’t bear to throw away. My creative process is deeply personal and 100% handmade in my studio.
My Step-by-Step Approach
- The Preparation: Whether it is preserving your flowers or custom-mixing resin to match a specific vibe, everything starts with a conversation. We chat, you share the details, and I plan the layout.
- The Pour: This is where the magic happens. I use high-gloss, non-yellowing epoxy resin. Whether it is creating that dreamy ocean-wave lace for a clock or embedding your wedding invitation in a frame, I pour in layers to give depth. It takes patience—resin needs time to cure properly to be bubble-free and durable.
- The Finishing Touches: I don't just pour and forget. I hand-paint metallic borders, apply gold vinyl decals for your names, or fix the clock mechanism. Each piece is finished with a scratch-resistant top coat to make sure it stays shiny for years.
