When I make functional resin pieces like trays or clocks, the most important part is the finish. Since these items are meant to be used, I use a high-gloss, non-yellowing epoxy that can handle daily handling. Just a heads-up: while they look stunning, try to avoid keeping them in direct, harsh sunlight to keep that glass-like shine looking perfect for a long time.
