About Stories from Home: Indian Productions
Our productions go beyond simple entertainment. When you book a private show, we provide a complete 55-minute theatrical experience featuring 3 to 4 professional puppeteers, followed by a 15-minute 'Meet the Puppet' session. This allows your guests to interact directly with our museum-grade puppets and see the intricate regional textiles up close.
At The Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust, we believe puppetry is a universal language that transcends age. Our Indian productions are rooted in the rich traditions of our folklore, such as the timeless Panchatantra, while incorporating modern techniques and narratives. We view every show as a bridge between tradition and the contemporary world.
The Craft Behind Our Shows
We prioritize authenticity in our visual storytelling. Our puppets are crafted from regional Indian textiles, turning traditional fabrics into living characters. This attention to detail ensures that every show is visually striking and educational, whether it is an adaptation of 'The Monkey and the Crocodile' or our contemporary pieces like 'Be Yourself.'
Why Choose Us for Your Event?
- Professional Staging: We bring our own portable professional booth or open-stage masking (requiring a 12ft x 10ft area) and handle the sound and focus lighting.
- Versatile Themes: Our content is non-preachy, focusing on universal values like friendship, self-acceptance, and creativity. It is suitable for schools, corporate cultural mixers, and family gatherings.
- Educational Value: We blend performance with interaction. The post-show demonstration is a highlight for children and adults, providing insight into the art of manipulation—including breath, focus, and gait.
We ensure that our shows are as logistically seamless as they are artistically rich. From the moment our team arrives to the final applause, we handle the production details, leaving you free to enjoy the performance.
