About Kathputli on the World Stage
When we bring a puppet show to your venue, it is more than a performance. We handle the entire setup, from the traditional backdrop to the live music accompaniment that brings the strings to life. Whether you are hosting a school assembly or a public festival, we ensure the audience is captivated by the history and storytelling behind every movement.
Our performances are rooted in the ancient traditions of Kathputli, a craft passed down through generations in our family. We believe this art thrives only when it is shared, which is why we take our marionettes to stages across India and beyond.
Bringing Rajasthan to You
We do not just bring puppets; we bring a live orchestra of traditional music. The rhythm of the dholak and the high-pitched folk songs create an atmosphere that transports the audience. We perform classic tales such as Amar Singh Rathore and Dhola Maru, ensuring the storytelling is as engaging as the visual performance.
Logistics for Your Event
We are used to adapting to different spaces. From large art galleries to school auditoriums, we set up our stage quickly and efficiently. We require only a small, cleared space to set our backdrop and provide mats for the audience. We handle our own technical needs, leaving you free to focus on the event itself.
An Educational Experience
Our shows are often requested by schools and cultural groups because they double as an interactive learning session. We pause to explain the history of the puppets, the intricate wood carving process, and the cultural significance of the stories we tell. It is about connecting the younger generation with their roots in a way that feels personal and direct.
